Mission
Statement
"TCC
exists as a fellowship of believers in Christ to glorify God in
all things-- to reach the lost for Christ -- to mature believers
in Christ -- and to challenge all believers to discover and fulfill
God's purpose for their lives through ministry by practicing love
and serving one another."
Here
at Tucker Christian Church we seek to promote an undenominational
Christian faith. Our plea is for all believers in Christ to return
to simple New Testament Christianity as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
We contend that unity in Christ is possible only to the extent
that we submit to following His will as set forth in the Bible.
- We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
virgin-born Son of the Living God. We believe that Jesus died
on a cross,.. was buried ... rose from the dead on the third
day... ascended to the right hand of the Father where He reigns
and rules ... and that one day He will come again to earth for
His bride, the Church.
- We endeavor to preach the good news of Christ
to our community and throughout the world, with the goal of saving
people through faith in Jesus and obedience to His gospel.
- We challenge our members, through the power
of the indwelling Holy Spirit, to adopt a Christ like lifestyle
and to continue Christ's work in the world through service to
others.
- We continue the New Testament practices of
baptizing believers by immersion and the weekly observance of
the Lord's Supper.
- We regard our people not as the only Christians
- but as Christians only.
- We seek unity with all believers in Christ
in matters of faith clearly revealed in the Bible and we contend
for freedom in matters of opinion where the Bible does not speak.
- We extend love to all people because Jesus
says love is the central trait of the Christian life. We seek
to practice the "Great Commandments" which Jesus says
are, "to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength...
and to love our neighbor as ourselves" - and the "Great
Commission" which is evangelism or reaching and teaching
lost souls for Christ.
- We invite into our fellowship all who will
commit themselves to Christ as the Savior and Lord of their lives,
and who have expressed this decision by confessing their faith
in Christ and by being baptized by immersion into Christ."
Although we are an independent, non-denominational congregation,
we do work cooperatively with many others in the support of Christian
agencies, Bible Colleges, missionaries, etc.
- We welcome everyone who would seek to know
the will of God in any area of their lives.
TO THOSE INTERESTED IN CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
At the close of each service an opportunity
is given for anyone who has a desire to accept Jesus Christ as
Savior to come forward and make that decision known. You will
be asked to repeat the confession of faith, "I believe
with all my heart
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
the Living God" and you will be baptized by immersion immediately
or as soon as possible
in obedience to Christ's command.
If you are already an immersed believer in Christ and a member
elsewhere and wish to become a part of our Church family, you
do not need a Church letter of transfer. We will write your Church
for you and request that they update their records.
If you are a Church member elsewhere but have not as yet submitted
to the original form of baptism by immersion, we will ask you
to do so. Since our goal as a Church is to restore the New Testament
pattern in all areas of Church life, we practice only the original
form of baptism, which is immersion.
We invite everyone to study God's Word with us and to worship
with us at any and all services of our Church. We would be honored
to minister to you and your family in any way that we possibly
can. And we invite you to join us as we seek to reach the world
for Christ
one soul at a time
and to glorify God
in all things. "To God be the glory - great things He hath
done!"
